GOVT DECIDES TO LIMIT HEC POWERS

 


Islamabad: The federal government has decided to limit the powers of the Higher Education Commission (HEC), ARY News reported on Tuesday.

  

The Cabinet Legislative Committee has approved changes to the HEC Law. Under the proposed changes, the position of Federal Minister will be revoked by his HEC Chairman.

The HEC Act is approved by the Ministry of Education, but the Executive Director of the Higher Education Commission is also appointed by the Government.The amendment will be submitted to the federal cabinet for final approval, sources said.
